Barry Dunnett
Company Secretary & Patrons Administrator

Barry started watching United in the early 60's. He's in the unusual position, as a Mancunian born and bred, that he saw United away from home before he saw them at Old Trafford. That first game was against Liverpool at Anfield in 1960. After that he managed to get to the occasional game (his father supported football rather than one club so the early years he was taken all over the north of England to watch matches). The first game he can remember attending on his own was the 67/8 Charity Shield v Spurs at Old Trafford. He was stood on the Tunnel at the Scoreboard End when Pat Jennings scored in a 3-3 draw. After that he started travelling to games home and away all through to the early 80's and has stood or (since the conversion) sat in the same place on the Stretford End since 1969.
Worst games seen on his travels -
York, Bootham Crescent in the 2nd division. How were they allowed to have a ground that bad in what is now called the Championship?
Southampton at Wembley - not for the game but for the result. It was his first ever Cup Final and he'd driven down for the match. After the game he was passing Birmingham before he spoke to anyone he was so disgusted in the result.
Best Game seen -
Barcelona in 99 - alright not a great game but what an evening of highs and lows.
Barry is a Director/Trustee of a Local Charity and is also the Estates Manager for that Charity. Because of his involvement in the Office Rental Sector with his Charity, he was able to assist in the procurement and relocation to the new MUST office at Old Trafford in 2008.
Barry joined SU/MUST as a full member in 2004, and has been an active member ever since, helping run events like Chubb Club and Champions League Screenings and the SMB100 event, as well as being a willing pair of hands when it's needed (when isn't it?) in the office.
Barry's ambition is that one day, as members of MUST, we will once more have a say in how the club we all love is run - no matter how long it takes.
Barry was co-opted onto the Board in December 2009 following Margaret Orhan's decision to stand down. He will take on the role of Company Secretary and Patrons Liason, a position ratified this year (2010) by his election to the post at the AGM.
