Howard Borrington

Howard was born in Manchester in July 1963 and graduated with a BSc (Honours) degree in Industrial Studies from Sheffield City Polytechnic in 1986.
Upon graduating he joined Royal Ordnance (RO) as a Graduate Personnel Officer at its Bishopton site near Glasgow before moving to its London headquarters in 1988 and joining the Corporate Public Affairs team, by which time British Aerospace had acquired majority ownership of RO.
He has been in the British Aerospace/BAE Systems group since that time and has operated as a Public Affairs and Communications practitioner across many of its sectors, including Commercial Aircraft, Regional Aircraft, Airbus (both in the UK and France), Matra BAe Dynamics, the Operations Group and now MBDA. He also had a spell (1999-2001) in the BAE Systems Corporate Head Office as UK Parliamentary Affairs Manager.
He returned to MBDA at its Strand headquarters in June 2002 as the Company's Director of UK Government Affairs and is a member of the senior UK management team and the MBDA Group committee on governmental relations.
Howard is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (MCIPR), a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society (FRAeS) and an Industry Fellow of the Industry and Parliament Trust.
He lives with his partner in Ruislip, Middlesex and his interests include classical music, golf, travel and, most importantly, all things Manchester United! He started attending matches in October 1977 and has been an Old Trafford regular ever since, getting his own season ticket in 1996. He joined Shareholders United in 2003 and has been actively involved in MUST's political lobbying campaign across Whitehall and Westminster.
