Karen was first introduced to the thrill of Old Trafford when aged 7 by her mother. She caught the Red Fever immediately and has been going ever since – firstly on the South Stand and in recent years a season ticket holder in the Stretford End. Co-founder of the MUFC High Peak Supporters’ Branch, she moved on to firstly become Company Secretary of Shareholders United and then Finance Director. These days she remains a Committee member of MUST but is proud to also be a Board member of the government funded organisation Supporters Direct.

A relocation with her job last year which took her “over the border” confirmed Karen’s love for her native Manchester and she is soon to return to live and work in the North West. She lives with her German Shepherd, Ruud, himself a United supporter (well he would be with a name like that!).

A graduate of the University of Manchester, Karen takes her football governance roles and spectatorship very seriously but when not involved in football she enjoys gardening, DIY, reading and travel to exotic climes. She is also about to commence a postgraduate study course in Human Resource management with the CIPD and has lived and worked previously in both Australia and South Africa.
