Lord Alf Morris
Patrons

Lord Alf is a Mancunian, born and bred. He is now in his thirty-ninth year at Westminster, thirty-three of them as Wythenshaw's M.P. He was educated in Manchester and at Oxford, obtaining his MA from St. Catherine's College. He then went on to get a DipEd from the Department of Education, Manchester University. He is married to Irene and they have two sons and two daughters. He served in the army, mainly in the Middle East. Alf has been a schoolteacher, Lecturer, Industrial Relations Officer and a Member of the House of Commons, becoming a PPS to the Minister of Agriculture and to the Leader of the House of Commons. He was Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Dept. of Health & Social Security, with special responsibility for the Disabled. Lord Alf was, in fact, the first Minister for the Disabled. He thinks that it was for his parliamentary work, not least on issues of particular concern to United and sustaining the Club's independence that he was invited to become an SU Patron.
