It was 28 November 1990, a Tuesday night, a League Cup fourth-round tie under floodlights, United wearing that blue and white away kit which didn't last long, the night it all came together for me, when I hit the big time and found myself dancing around Highbury scoring a hat-trick for Manchester United in a 6-2 win over Arsenal. When you're a boy, tucked up under your duvet with your football and new boots for the coming season, your little head full of thoughts of one day being a footballer, do you dare dream of it being that good? Not just that you might one day play for a big club and score a goal but score three - a twenty-five-yard curler, a nice little header and a crisp right-foot finish - on telly, for Manchester United, against the England goalkeeper and League Champions? Can it get that good?
