We have received the following appeal from Dave Matthew-Jones of the Cambridge FC fans group.
"Last December following the collapse of ITV Digital Cambridge United had to take out a £600,000 bank loan to see them through the following 12 months. A condition of the loan was that has to be repaid in full by 22 December 2003. If the loan is not repaid then the club's future is at risk as the ground was used for security.
The Chairman and Driectors have put together a plan, including futher investments by them, that will provide £500,000 but there is a gap of £100,000.
The supporters of Cambridge United are working hard to raise the missing £100,000 and if successful will earn the right to have a Fans' Director on the board.
